My Take

This is the premium card in the Atmos Rewards family, and it earns that designation. At $395 a year it is priced $200 below what American, Delta, and United charge for their top-tier airline cards — and it delivers benefits that genuinely compete.

The headline benefit is the annual 25,000-point Global Companion Award. Every year on your account anniversary you receive this award automatically, which reduces the points cost of a companion ticket by 25,000 points. If you fly with a partner or spouse regularly — which we do — this alone can offset a significant portion of the annual fee. Spend $60,000 in an anniversary year and that award grows to 100,000 points, which is enough to cover a companion’s long-haul flight entirely.

The Alaska Lounge passes are another standout — 8 per year, issued 2 per quarter, and each pass covers one adult plus up to two children under 21 for free. For some families that could be a meaningful perk.

But here is what I want every reader to understand about this card: even if you have never flown Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines, Atmos Rewards points are worth holding. The oneworld alliance partnerships are exceptional. We used Atmos miles to book Japan Airlines flights from Tokyo to JFK, and the program also books American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, British Airways, Qantas, and more.

The $120 Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit every four years, the waived partner award fees, and the fast track to elite status round out what is genuinely one of the most underrated premium travel cards available right now.

Before applying, keep in mind that Bank of America typically limits approvals to no more than 2 of their credit cards in 2 months, 3 in 12 months, and 4 in 24 months. There is also a rule based on how many new cards you have opened across all banks in the past 12 months — if you have a Bank of America deposit account, that limit is 7 new cards in 12 months, but if you do not have a deposit account with them, the limit drops to just 3 new cards in 12 months. Given the $395 annual fee on this card, it is worth taking a few minutes to make sure you are well within those thresholds before applying.
