My Take
This card just went through a real refresh, not just a bonus bump — the annual fee jumped from $95 to $195, but Chase backed that up with benefits that can offset a good chunk of it. The automatic Aeroplan 25K Status is the headline change: no more spending $15,000 a year to keep it, you just get it. That alone is worth something if you fly Air Canada or other Star Alliance carriers with any regularity, since it unlocks priority check-in, zone 2 boarding, and extra checked bags from day one.
The new $100 in annual Air Canada credits effectively brings the real cost back down near the old $95 fee if you actually spend on Air Canada purchases, and the 15% discount on award redemptions is a nice add for anyone who books Aeroplan awards regularly. Where this card gets less exciting is if you were using it mainly for everyday dining and grocery spend — that rate is dropping from 3x to 2x starting in 2027, so this isn't the card for someone chasing a strong everyday earner. It's built specifically for people who care about Air Canada and Star Alliance travel, not as a general-purpose points card.

Offer History
The Chase Air Canada Aeroplan Card underwent a major refresh in September 2026 — a new card name, a higher annual fee, automatic elite status, and updated earning rates all landed at once, alongside a notably strong welcome offer that's been reported as the best this card has seen to date. Because a refresh like this doesn't happen often, but welcome offer amounts still shift within the current structure over time, check the Welcome Offer field above for exactly what's being offered right now.
