My Take
The Atmos Rewards Business Card is essentially the business version of the Ascent — same $95 annual fee range, same core travel benefits, same annual $99 Companion Fare structure. The main differences are in the bonus categories: where the Ascent earns 2x on cable and streaming, the Business card earns 2x on shipping instead, which makes it a better fit for business owners with shipping expenses.
The welcome offer spend requirement is slightly higher than the personal Ascent — $5,000 in 90 days versus $4,000 in 120 days — so make sure you have enough business spending lined up before applying.
One important note on approval: this card has a reputation for being harder to get approved for than the personal cards, particularly for those without an existing banking relationship with Bank of America. Bank of America’s standard eligibility rules apply — specifically the 7/24 and 2/3/4 rules (no more than 2 Bank of America cards in 2 months, 3 in 12 months, or 4 in 24 months). The 3/12 rule that applies to personal cards typically does not apply to business cards, but having an existing Bank of America checking or savings account can meaningfully improve your approval odds.
Despite the slightly harder approval path, this card is worth pursuing for eligible business owners. The Companion Fare alone typically covers the annual fee in a single use, and the Atmos Rewards points earned on business spending are among the most valuable airline miles available — bookable across the oneworld alliance including Japan Airlines, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, British Airways, and more.
