My Take
If you fly Delta even a few times a year and you're looking for a no-annual-fee way to start earning SkyMiles, the Delta SkyMiles® Blue American Express Card is a solid starting point. I won't oversell it — this is a straightforward entry-level card, not a powerhouse — but that's actually the point.
The welcome offer is modest, and the card doesn't come with perks like a free checked bag or priority boarding that you'll find on the higher-tier Delta cards. What it does offer is a simple, no-cost way to earn miles on Delta purchases and restaurants, with no annual fee eating into your rewards.
The TakeOff 15 discount — where you save 15% when redeeming miles for Delta flights — is not included on the Blue card, which is worth knowing before you apply. That perk starts with the Gold.
My honest take: this card makes the most sense if you're brand new to points and miles and want to dip your toes in without committing to an annual fee. If you're already comfortable with the basics, I'd skip straight to the Gold, where the benefits get meaningfully better and the $0 intro annual fee in year one softens the commitment.

Offer History
The Delta SkyMiles® Blue American Express Card typically carries a welcome offer of 10,000 bonus miles after $1,000 in purchases in the first 6 months. This card does not tend to see the elevated limited-time offers that the Gold, Platinum, and Reserve cards see. Welcome offers vary and you may not be eligible for an offer.
