My Take

The Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card is the card I point families to once lounge access actually matters to how they travel. Between 15 Delta Sky Club visits a year and complimentary Centurion Lounge access when you fly Delta, this is the Delta Amex where the $650 fee buys real, tangible comfort at the airport, not just points.

The Companion Certificate here is stronger than the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card's too, valid on Delta First or Comfort+ as well as Main cabin, which makes it easy to bring a partner along on a nicer seat without doubling the cost. Combine that with the $240 Resy Credit, the $120 Rideshare Credit, and the $200 Delta Stays Credit, and the ongoing value adds up quickly if you're already spending in those categories.

This card also comes with real trip protection built in, including trip cancellation and interruption insurance, which is worth knowing about if you're booking bigger family trips on the card. Like the other personal Delta Amex cards, it does count toward Chase's 5/24 rule, so factor that in if you're also building a Chase stack.
