Air France KLM Visa Signature® Credit Card

Kim's Take

For an $89 annual fee, this welcome offer punches above its weight. Spend $3,000 in your first 90 days of account opening and you'll earn 70,000 Flying Blue miles plus 100 Experience Points (XP) toward elite status. Here's how I think about the miles side of that math: at roughly 1.3 cents apiece, 70,000 Flying Blue miles works out to somewhere around $900 in travel value — enough to meaningfully offset a flight to Europe on Air France or KLM, especially once you start transferring in miles from other flexible points currencies. The 100 XP is a nice head start too, since it gets you Flying Blue Silver status right away (math below). For a modest spend requirement and a low annual fee, that's a strong combination.

My Take

If you're chasing Flying Blue miles, this card is a solid way to build them up directly — especially if you've already worked through my other top card recommendations and are looking for another lever to pull. The welcome bonus alone gets you a meaningful head start, and the XP structure (up to 180 points a year) can get you to Flying Blue Silver (and even Gold) status faster than you'd think, unlocking priority check-in and boarding, free seat selection, and an extra checked bag on SkyTeam flights.

The Bilt partnership is worth calling out too: if you're already paying rent through Bilt, earning 3x Flying Blue miles on up to $50,000 a year in rent (up to 150,000 miles) is a way to build a real stash of miles without changing how you spend at all.

Here's the good news if the card's own everyday earning rate feels thin: you don't have to rely on it alone. Flying Blue is a transfer partner for several major flexible points currencies, so you can top up your balance from cards you may already be carrying. Amex Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Capital One miles, Citibank ThankYou Rewards and Rove all transfer at 1:1. That flexibility means this card doesn't need to be your only path to Flying Blue miles — it's a solid complement to a broader points strategy, not a card you need to lean on entirely by itself.
