If you stay at Marriott properties even a handful of times per year, that status alone adds meaningful value.

The 15 Elite Night Credits per year are a head start toward Platinum Elite status, which kicks in at 50 nights. Combined with the Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card — which also offers 15 Elite Night Credits — you can stack up to 30 Elite Night Credits annually between a personal and business card, putting Platinum Elite within reach for moderate travelers.

The Free Night Award is worth noting but comes with a catch: you only earn it after spending $15,000 on the card in a calendar year. If you can hit that threshold, the award — valid at properties up to 50,000 points per night — can easily be worth $200–$350 or more, which more than offsets the annual fee on its own.
