How to Get a Second Room 50% Off!

If you have a bigger family like we do, you know that traveling can be expensive. Between flights, hotels and rental cars, a trip can get pricey. Especially in places like Europe where room occupancies rarely exceed 3 people. That’s why I’m so excited to tell you about the Hyatt Family Rate as a way for families to save money on their hotel stays!

The Hyatt Family Rate is a great way to stay connected with your family while you’re on the road. If you’re planning to travel with kids under 18, this is an opportunity to get a second room at 50% off the regular price.

Are These All Available in Every Hyatt Hotel and Resort?

Not all Hyatt hotels and resorts participate in this program, so you’ll need to call each of the Hyatt hotels or resorts you’re interested in to find out if they offer this rate.

How Do I Make a Reservation Under the Hyatt Family Rate?

While there are several ways to book your stay at Hyatt, calling is the best way to make a reservation under the Hyatt Family Rate. You will make the reservation directly with Hyatt, and they will confirm if the rooms are available for you. If you call Hyatt and the representative seems unfamiliar with this concept, you may need to hang up and call again.

What Are the Requirements To Get a Hyatt Family Discount?

To book the first room, you can pay using your points or cash. However, you must pay for the second room in cash to take advantage of the 50% discount. Of course, you can pay for both rooms with cash if you don’t have any points.

Do I Automatically Get a 50% Off in a Hyatt Family Discount?

According to discussion in online forums, it seems that the discount isn’t always exactly 50%, rather it is a discount of up to 50% off.

What Age Will the Discounted Room Accommodate?

The second room is intended for children. Some Hyatts have allowed guests to book a second room for children under 18, while others offer the same rate for children under 13.

Bottom Line

Using the Family Plan rate at a Hyatt hotel is a great way to save money on a second room. This is really convenient if you are traveling with children, as they can have their own room while you enjoy a little privacy. If you already have a trip planned that involves booking 2 rooms, it may be worth giving the hotel a call to inquire about this special rate.

To truly maximize this deal, book your first room with points to make an expensive trip more affordable. In the end you could end up with 2 rooms for just half the price of one room!
