The Ultimate List of FREE Disney World Souvenirs

One of my favorite things to do before our Disney trips are over, is to pick out a souvenir to remind of us one of our favorite places on earth (Don’t hate. Disney World is the best!)

But you may have noticed a theme around here. I don’t like to spend a lot of money… on ANYTHING.

So if you’re like me, and you like to save money like it’s a sport, I’ve compiled this list for you.

The Ultimate List of Freebies at Disney World and where to find them

Read on for a list of my favorite FREE Disney souvenirs.

(And if you’re feeling wild and crazy and want to spend a little more, you can see my favorite souvenirs available for under $20 here.)

1. Pressed Pennies

Children making pressed penny souvenirs at Disney World

While these aren’t technically free, they are too cheap to list anywhere else. For 51 cents each you can take home an adorable collectible souvenir.

On our last visit each of my kids had a coin pouch at the end of a Disney lanyard so that they were always ready with 2 quarters and a shiny penny. Check out this site for a complete list of Pressed Penny locations.

UPDATE: Pressed pennies machines are beginning to pop up that will now charge you $1.00 instead of .50 cents. Kind of a bummer for pressed penny fans, but still a relatively cheap souvenir.

2. Celebration Buttons

First time visiting Disney World? It’s your birthday? On a family reunion? Just feeling really good about life?

Whatever you’re celebrating, stop by the front desk of your Disney hotel or guest relations at any of the 4 Disney Parks and ask for a button. Wear your celebration button throughout the parks and you might even get some special attention from cast members or if you’re lucky, a free dessert with your meal.

3. Treasures of the Seven Seas Map

Make your way to “A Pirate’s Adventure” building in Adventure Land where you’ll be given a paper map (yours to keep!) and a special assignment.

If yer wee pirate completes at least two adventures, he may be granted a special reward!

4. Park Maps

Be sure to grab a map from each park to keep as a souvenir. I still have the maps from my trips as a kid in 1997! It’s really fun to look back and see how much things have changed since then.

5. Resort Soaps and Shampoos

If you’re staying at a Disney Resort the H2O line of shampoos and soaps are Disney branded and make a great little souvenir.

6. Wilderness Explorer Guide

In Animal Kingdom be sure to look for the Wilderness Explorer stops scattered throughout the park. Complete tasks to earn badges. There are over 30!

(Check out my father-in-law. The real life Carl Fredricksen!)

7. Kidcot Stations

Stop at the Kidcot Stations in each of the countries in the World Showcase at Epcot to interact with cast members from that country and receive a traveler’s card and a special ziplock bag to store them in.

8. Character Autographs

Another souvenir I still have from my childhood is an autograph book. And now each of my kids has their own.

You can purchase a special autograph book in the parks or online (we purchased these on Amazon and they were perfect!). Or just bring any notebook from home and it will cost you nothing!

9. Character Drawing

The Art classes at Hollywood Studios have recently been discontinued, but you can still take advantage at the Art of Animation resort at selected times throughout the day. At 11am, 2pm, and 5pm daily you can take part in an instructional drawing class where you’ll learn how to draw a real Disney character.

You’ll walk away feeling like a real artist and with a unique souvenir as well. (While priority will be given to resort guests, you do not need to be a guest at this resort in order to participate).

10. Stickers

You’ll likely see cast members passing out stickers at park entrances, and in gift shops and restaurants. These free handouts became little treasures to my kids throughout our last trip!

11. Magic Bands

Magic Bands for Disney Vacation

If you are staying at any of the Disney Resort hotels, even for just one night, you will receive a free Disney magic band to use throughout your vacation. My son still likes to wear his every now and then, just for fun.

Update: As of 2021, Magic Bands are no longer free when staying at a Disney Resort but you can purchase them at a discount.

12. Enchanted Tales With Belle Bookmark

Be sure to visit this attraction for the chance to be chosen as an “actor” in the telling of Belle’s story. Each participant will receive a special Enchanted Tales with Belle bookmark.

13. Transportation Cards

Ask any bus driver, monorail driver, boat crew member, or tram cast members for a free transportaion trading card with a picture and fun facts on them. We have never collected these trading cards but I’m excited to ask for them the next time we visit!

14. Epcot Festival Passports

If you are visiting during one of Epcot’s many annual festivals (Flower and Garden, Food & Wine, etc.), be sure to grab a Festival Passport to keep as a souvenir.

Hi! My name is Kim. I’m the mom of 3 boys, the wife to 1 husband, and the driver of a 2013 Toyota Sienna. I love Jesus and my family, I have an obsession with getting a good deal, and if I had it my way I’d spend every weekend at Disney World trying a new food shaped like a Disney character…
